Affect of Hostage Activities Angers the US

Department of State Spokesman Richard Boucher demanded that countries not make concessions to terrorism and encouraged people to stay in Iraq. The US particularly criticized the Philippines as it called its troops home after a Filipino was kidnapped. After Turkish worker Murat Yuce was executed by militants in Iraq, the National Transporters Association decided to stop carrying goods for American troops in Iraq. Two Turkish hostages were released as a result of that decision.
