A tone and four kg heroin seized in Turkey

Guler told press members that security forces intercepted one ton and four kg of heroin in a small sugar factory in Cakmakli village of Buyukcekmece district as part of an operation underway since November.

Guler said that seven people who were detained after the operation would be transferred to State Security Court.

Officials had earlier said that the smugglers were trying to smuggle the haul which they provided in Iran, and brought to Istanbul through Yuksekova, to abroad.

Officials said the persons who were detained were members of a drug smuggling gang from Yuksekova.
