Tuzmen: Exports from Turkey rise by 38 pct

ANKARA (AA) – Responding questions of the A.A correspondent on Sunday, Tuzmen said, "according to data of Turkish Exporters’ Association, exports from Turkey increased 38 percent to 4 billion 162 million U.S. dollars between January 1 and 29, 2004 over to the same period last year. If we can maintain this increase in exports, our exports will reach to 55 billion U.S. dollars at the end of the year."

He noted, "exports of agricultural products increased by 23 percent, exports of industrial products rose by 40 percent, exports of textiles climbed by 22 percent, exports of electricity and electronics increased by 39 percent, exports of automotive climbed by 74 percent, exports of machinery rose by 50 percent, exports of chemicals increased by 48 percent, exports of cement climbed by 48 percent, exports of mining rose by 67 percent and exports of iron and non-iron products increased by 41 percent."

Tuzmen added that they were planning to pay visits to some countries in order to market Turkish goods.
