Taliban claims responsibility of suicide attack

An Afghan intelligence chief was among the victims of the attack, about 200 metres (yards) from Kabul airport, where hundreds of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) troops are based.
"Chairman (Abdul) Jalal along with four bodyguards were killed while trying to arrest a terrorist who had explosive devices with him. In total six people including the terrorist were killed. The suspect was carrying an explosive device which was taken from him but he then detonated other explosives strapped to his body," police chief Baba Jan told to reporters, adding that the suspect had been tailed for several days before being arrested.
"It seems that the bomber was a foreigner not an Afghan," he said, without providing more details on his identity.
