Japanese grant funds Turkish reforms

ANKARA – Japan has given Turkey $534,000 to help Turkey make reforms to prepare for a Programmatic Public Sector and Social Security Reform Adjustment loan from the World Bank.

As the administrator of the grant funds provided by Japan, the World Bank signed an agreement yesterday with the Undersecretariat of the Treasury. Andrew Vorkink, the World Bank’s director in Turkey, said in a press release: "This is an important grant for which we are very grateful to the government of Japan. This will help Turkey prepare reforms in vital areas such as health insurance, pensions and social programs.
