Turkey stops Sharon’s meeting request

ANKARA (AA) – Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s request to stop by Ankara on November 3 when returning from Russia was not accepted due to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s busy schedule, sources said.

An official from Israeli Embassy in Ankara said on Wednesday that they did not know schedule of Erdogan on November 3 and stated that they could understand reasons why Ankara did not accept request of Sharon.

The official said that a date on which both sides would reach consensus could be determined for Sharon’s visit to Ankara.
