Turkey raises $7.3 billion through tourism

Among the $7.32 billion tourism income, $5.375 billion was obtained from individual expenses and $1.656 billion was obtained from package tour expenses.

In the third term of 2003, compared to the previous year’s same term, total expenses and expenses of foreign visitors increased 20.5 percent. Turkey had obtained $5.836 billion in the same period of the previous year .

According to the survey, Turkey obtained $10.492 billion income from tourism in the first nine months of 2003 and 12.436 million people visited Turkey in the mentioned period.

Some 10.356 of the visitors were foreigners while 2.79 million of them were citizens residing abroad.

According to the survey of arriving citizens, $694.998 million of tourism expenses were calculated in the third term of 2003.

The amount of individual expenses was $667.41 million and the amount of package tour expenses was $27.588 million in the mentioned period.
