OIC draft comforts Ankara over Iraq

Ankara is said to be pleased by the draft final statement as it does not condemn Turkey for agreeing to deploy troops in Iraq as part of the international stability force.
Many countries have individually slammed Ankara’s decision to send forces to Iraq. However, the draft prepared by Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Syria and Turkey said that, “In order to meet the needs of Iraq every support should be given.”
The text, approved by the OIC Foreign Ministers, is to be presented to the heads of state of the organisation, who will be meeting in the Malaysia capital from the 16th of October for two days.
