Turkey is invited to Chechnya elections for monitoring

ANKARA (AA) – Russian Ambassador to Turkey Petr Stegniy stated today that Russian authority was determined to provide peace and stability in Chechnya and for this, it would take necessary steps.

Stegniy underlined that under the frame of new constitution, basic administration wings would be established and the process of sharing the authority between Russia and Chechnya started.

Ambassador stated that polls would affect the entire region positively and it was an important step for stability. He added that seven candidates run for elections and Chechen people would welcome the elections.

He added, "All needed preparations are made and Russia is sending invitations to foreign countries to send observers to monitor elections and Turkey is one of them."
