Turkey: Electricity Sales to Iraq Begin
The Black Sea Wholesale Electricity Trading Co. (KARTET) submitted an export offer of 4.8 millions kilowatts (kWh) of electric energy per day to the Energy Market Regulation Agency (EPDK).
The Agency approved the sale and transmission will use an electric line between Silopi and Zaho.
It was also reported that the State Waterworks’ (DSI) Sanliurfa facilities would soon start pumping water to Iraq. This will help Iraq’s agricultural irrigation situation.
Also, the state run petroleum monopoly TPAO will transfer paraffin in return for fuel oil.
Meanwhile, other countries such as Libya have requested imports of water, and studies on the matter will be on the agenda soon.
