Turkey: Syrian gov’t reduces transition fees
Tuzmen in a written statement said that the fees to cross into Syria were very high and businessmen dealing with export experienced problems due to high fees. "That is why, we brought the issue to the agenda and talked with Syrian Prime Minister Mustafa Miro and officials from the Foreign Trade and Economy Ministry and Transport Ministry.
"Following the talks, the Syrian government considered Turkey’s request appropriate," said Tuzmen, adding, "This reduction will boost export between Turkey and Syria. Transportation over Syria will improve. This will contribute to both countries. The decision taken by the Syrian government will positively affect Turkey-Syria relations."
