AKP Elazig Ulger city leader resigns

In a written statement, Ulgen said AKP leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan had appointed him to the post on April 24, 2003 and he had formed a governing council with 40 members.

The broadly accepted structure he had established, had been corrupted in the local party elections in July, due to the influence exerted by AKP Elazig deputies and the positive atmosphere had disappeared.

He said he was resigning from his post to make the party structure more transparent.
