Turkey trying to persuade Pakistan to send troops

US is not inclined to accept a force from Islamic Conference Organization countries, because there is a Arab majority. Meanwhile Turkey is trying to win over Pakistan.

According to a report by NTV news channel, Turkey told Pakistani Foreign Ministry undersecretary, who is currently in Turkey, they wanted to send troops to stabilize Iraq and that only if they went in would US leave the country.

Also, if Pakistan deploys troops in Iraq, they will be sent to northern Iraq and Turkey would have a close ally in a sensitive region.

Pakistan had refused to serve under British command in Basra, and as a result, there was an agreement that if Pakistan sent troops they would serve in the north of the country.

India’s refusal to send soldiers also makes it easier for Pakistan to send troops, but most Pakistani officials want to see how Turkish troops will be received in Iraq after deciding on the matter.
