Turkish hospital project in Baghdad

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s created a coordination position related to the establishment of hospitals in Iraq and a budget of 5 million dollars was assigned for hospitals in Baghdad and Kirkuk.

After the positive signal related to sending of soldiers to Iraq was received, Representative Comez established a team consisting of workers from Kizilay and Ministry of Public Works and Housing, with the coordination of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Comez pointed out that two hospitals, each with 50-bed capacity, would be completed within 2 months

Razi Hospital in Baghdad is in need of serious repair. In Kirkuk, a hospital is to be built on new land. Turkish engineers will use the latest technology for construction in Iraq. The hospitals are expected to open in autumn and for the first two months Turkish doctors will be in charge. After the training of Iraqi doctors and the necessary adaptations are made, the hospitals will be handed over to Iraqi authorities.
