We wait for US answer to our questions

ANKARA (AA) – Before the summit on Iraq which will be held in Residence of Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said today that Turkey would wait for answer from the US on the issue of sending troops to Iraq.

Gul stated that it was too early to say anything what kind of result could come out from the summit and after it, the Cabinet would take up the subject.

He stated that Ankara asked the US where and how Turkish soldiers would take part and now Ankara would wait for answers.

About allegations that TRNC citizens could not proceed from Turkish border gates to another country with passport of the Greek Cypriot side according to a decree which was sent to customs gates by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he said "There is not such a secret decree preventing citizens of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) from proceeding to another country with passport of the Greek Cypriot side."

Sources had claimed that TRNC citizens could not proceed from Turkish border gates to another country with passport of the Greek Cypriot side according to a decree which was sent to customs gates by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The decree brought forth the rule to "leave the country with the same passport used when entering the country," sources had added.
