Turkey: Coal mine collapses, 15 dead, 6 injured
Initial reports revealed that the incident appeared to have been caused by an explosion. Security precautions were stepped up to prevent a possible unrest around the mine by riot police. Reporters were prevent from covering the scene.
Rescue workers, backed by fire engines and labor vehicles, have been digging through shattered chuncks of concrete and mangled metal to hunt for trapped bodies.
