Turkish association reduces foreign players

Super League sides will only be allotted six foreign players for the 2004-2005 season. Before the new rules, teams were allowed to have eight non-Turkish players in their squads.

The TFF said these new rules will force clubs to identify and develop more domestic talent.

"Turkish footballers have proved their capabilities on the international stage to everybody in the world," said TFF president Haluk Ulusoy. "At the TFF we believe in the benefit of this restriction."
