FM Gul receives Greek Patriarch Bartholomeos

"They welcomed us in a very warm atmosphere," said Bartholomeos, adding that they explained the problems both verbally and in written form.
"Certain questions were also asked to us, we replied to them. Mr. Gul gave us information about the general attitude and general approach of their party and the government, and he explained their attitude about the problems of minorities. They told us that necessary things would be done about the issues on which we dwelled. They told us that they wanted all citizens to live in peace and happiness irrespective of their religions and origins and reiterated that the studies of the government were in the same direction. We are very pleased and grateful," Bartholomeos said.
Bartholomeos said that they also discussed the issue of reopening Heybeliada seminary during the meeting and that they wanted the reopening of the seminary.
