Dr. Robert Ballard had arrived in the city of Sinop a few day ago in order to search the marks of the Noah’s Deluge and the wreckages on the historical Blacksea Trade Route by the research vessel Knorr. But, Dr. Ballard and his 70-member staff have still waiting at the coast because they haven’t gotten permission from Turkish authorities to launch research at Turkish territorial waters.
Dr. Robert Ballard hosted Sinop’s Governor Zeki Sanal in the vessel and gave information as showing around him. This visit also was watched – as a live broadcast- by the academicians of Prode Island Univesity in Texas, USA.
At the end of the visit, he made a press statement, emphasizing "there are two groups, which one believes the Deluge happened at the Blacksea and others don’t. But it is not important for us which one is right."
"Our job is only to try to find out the true one. We have some findings and are searching these evidences. Our job is to collect information. We cannot predict at the moment what the next step will be. We’ll depart from here to go wreckage site. Our apparatus is equipped with the latest technology. We will able to take sample from the ground. We capable to dive into everywhere in the Blacksea untill 3 thousands meters depth."
Upon news claiming he has hidden intend to search oil sources in the sea, he said, "It is true that we are searching oil. But only olive oil, not kerosene. The oil is that departed from here 1,500 year ago and lost on the historical Blacksea route. I invite those accusing us to follow our web site during 24 hours because we will make public all that what we do in the ship."
