Turkish police have seized Lysergic Acid Diethylamidpoli (LSD).
The operation began when narcotics police received information that a large shipment of ecstasy was being smuggled into Turkey in the battery of a truck coming from Holland. An undercover officer met Emrah Gurcan in a Beyoglu cafe, and agreed to buy the ecstasy for TL20 million each and the LSD for TL45 million each. The next day, the officer accompanied Gurcan to a house in Beykoz, where Gurcan showed him the drugs. A police team then raided the house, arresting Gurcan, Baris Bozarslan, and Lahcah Robboj of the Netherlands. During interrogation Gurcan admitted to buying the drugs in Holland, and claimed it was the first time he had smuggled drugs.
Some people contend that ingesting LSD can result in very dangerous hallucinations, that taking large doses can lead to murder, suicide, or insanity, and that LSD is highly addictive.
