Record in Turkish University Exam

At a press conference in Konya with his parents, Emre Kacar said that he had worked with a group of nine friends during the last three years, to prepare to the test. He said that this group had carried out social acvities along with their study and supported each other. Kacar said he wanted to be an electronics engineer.

Kacar said, entering Bogazici, Sabancı, Koç, or Middle East Technical University was every student’s dream and "I could choose one of these."

Prof.Savas Kucukyavuz, the President of the Higher Education Selection Center said that the most successful schools had been the Science Lycees and that girls had higher achievement than boys. The achievement rate among girls has been 85.9 % and among boys, 76.9 %.

As for the provinces, Ankara was the number-one city in the Numerical Tests, followed by Konya and Antalya. Kirsehir, Aksaray and Antalya had the highest points in verbal tests and Antalya, Konya and Kirsehir had the highest points in equal-weight tests.Antalya, Kirsehir and Aydin were the three cities producing the highest number of achieving students.
