Germany sentenced at European Court

Germany will pay pecuniary compensation of 24,500 euros to immigrant worker Asim Sahin, who applied to the European Court after Germany prohibited him from seeing his daughter whose mother was a German citizen.

Germany previously appealed against decision
The European Court had previously decided that Germany contravened Article 14 and Article 8 of AIHS relating to `the principle of respect to family life`. The German government later disputed this decision and demanded the application to be taken to the top office of the European Court.
