Tehran Trade under the Control of a Turkish Girl

Sirin Asefi is one of those rare people who actually demonstrate the quality described by the literal definition of their personal name. Among Iranian women, Sirin’s name means: "skillful at doing a number of things." In addition to being a businesswoman, Asefi has also been successful in a variety of artistic endeavors, including horse riding and training, calligraphy, miniatures, and in the design of Iranian carpets. Her father is an engineer and her mother is a teacher. Asefi graduated eight years ago from department of Electronics Telecommunication Engineering at Tehran University.

It is Asefi’s opinion that the trade capacity, consisting largely of iron and steel, construction materials, food products and textiles, should triple in volume.

Asefi explained that she has travels to Turkey an average of 20 times per year. Her efforts have helped to expand the polyethylene market, one of the mainstays of Iranian industry. She was the first person to achieve the 100-ton sales benchmark, an achievement never realized even by businessmen who opposed the Iranian petrochemical industry.
