Famous Software Expert Supports Turkish Youth

Dinc explained that "enthusiasm and competence" are the necessary characteristics for anyone involved in the software sector and that Turkish young people embody both of these factors. Dinc explained that by supporting local youth, the number one "brain drain" of Turkey, that of computer engineers, can be prevented and great success can be achieved.

Mevlut Dinc is a world famous name in the sector of computer games. Since beginning his work in 1983, he created the well-known games "First Samurai", "Last Ninja 2" and "Street Racer". Dinc was also the first software specialist to patent Turkish games.

Dinc encourages all sectors of society, especially politicians, to support young people. Though he has not witnessed such support, the computer program expert plans on remaining in Turkey. Dinc said "Young people get discouraged when they witness that no support is given to professionals like us." He emphasized the importance of workshops in young people’s education. Dinc went on to say, "I want to gather enthusiastic young people in Turkey, to train them and to develop new games. That sector will get an important position in Turkey. We have lain the foundation of that sector with people as young as seven years old."

Within the next three to four years, Dinc plans to create a team of sixty people. Pointing out that cinema and music are the leading areas in the game sector, Dinc explained that one software game would make more money than some Hollywood films. He added, "If each game is sold for 10 dollars, that would total $4-5 million. Computer games earn a great deal of money and do so in a sector that is least affected by financial crisis."
