Japanese Tourists to Watch Sunrise from Mt. Nemrut

Gursoy pointed out that along with its 2,000-year history Nemrut is witness to one of the most beautiful sunrises in the world. He explained that famous Turkish musicians on Mt. Fuji and Japanese musicians on Mt. Nemrut would give concerts as part of the project and added that they would prepare thousands of CDs and brochures in Japanese as an advertisement. "In addition to the unique historical infrastructure of Nemrut, we want to allow the Japanese to watch the wonderful rising of the sun accompanied by music. I think Japanese people will admire Nemrut," he said. Gursoy emphasized that Nemrut is visited annually by about 50,000 tourists and that with the coming of the Japanese, that number would increase.
