ALPAY CAN LEAVE VILLA, SAYS TAYLOR
“It’s pretty clear. We have to decide whether you are for the cause or not and I don’t think Alfie’s for the cause, so we have to get on with those players that are.”
Taylor admitted that he is ready to listen to offers for the former Villa skipper, but also revealed that no-one has made an approach for the man that helped Turkey to third in the World Cup finals.
And he also warned the defender that the situation is unlikely to improve as long as he is not playing first-team football.
“Although he did well for Turkey during the World Cup, people judge you on your club form. If he’s not playing here, or anywhere else, his career is standing still.
“He needs to get going again, but I can say that no-one has come in for him. If a club is interested in Alfie, then the quicker they come in and put their bid on the table, the quicker we can see if we can do business with them.”
