At least 9 Palestinians killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes in Gaza

GAZA CITY, Palestine

At least nine Palestinians were killed in fresh airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday as Israel continued its deadly offensive on the enclave, according to medical sources.

An Israeli drone strike targeted a house in the southern city of Khan Younis, leaving four people dead and injuring several others, a medical source told Anadolu.

Four other people lost their lives in another airstrike in Namsawi neighborhood west of Khan Younis, another source said.

Another civilian was killed and several people were injured in another airstrike on a car in northern Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, the source said.

Israeli forces also shelled refugee tents in Shakoush area, northwest of Rafah, according to witnesses.

Artillery shelling was reported in eastern Deir al-Balah and the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Several homes also came under Israeli gunfire in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City.

Israel has continued its brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip following an attack by the Palestinian group Hamas last Oct. 7, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.

The onslaught has resulted in over 40,400 Palestinian deaths, mostly women and children, and over 93,500 injuries, according to local health authorities.

An ongoing blockade of Gaza has led to severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine, leaving much of the region in ruins.

Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which has ordered a halt to military operations Rafah, where over one million Palestinians had sought refuge before the area was invaded on May 6.
