6 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes on central Gaza Strip

GAZA CITY, Palestine

Six Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Saturday in Israeli airstrikes targeting homes and apartments in the Gaza Strip.

“Three martyrs and several injuries were reported following an Israeli airstrike on an apartment belonging to the Naima Allah family in the Nuseirat camp, central Gaza Strip,” Al-Awda Hospital in Gaza said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Civil Defense reported that “an Israeli airstrike targeted a home belonging to the Al-Sabbagh family in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City, resulting in one martyr and several injured, including critical cases.”

The Civil Defense noted that an Israeli strike destroyed residential apartments in the Ain Jalout Towers in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that the bombing of the tower also injured photographer Mahmoud Eki.

Flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, Israel has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7 attack by Hamas.

More than 38,900 Palestinians have since been killed, mostly women and children, and over 89,600 injured, according to local health authorities.

Over nine months into the Israeli onslaught, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in the southern city of Rafah, where more than 1 million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
