$20mln Economic losses for Turkish businesses in Kyrgyzstan

Turkish Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Serpil Alpman says
more than 25 Turkish companies in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek were attacked during this week’s political upheavals, which ousted President Askar Akayev.

The ambassador says the Turkish embassy has been working hard to ensure safety of Turkish citizens in the country, adding that the government is sending a second plane to evacuate Turkish citizens.

The second plane will arrive in Kyrgyzstan Sunday to evacuate 123 Turks.

Turkey sent its first plane to Bishkek Friday, bringing home 119 Turks, mostly women and children.
