Microsoft removes soft corners for paid Ads
Microsoft has decided to launch it own technology to show paid Ads with MSN Search results. It is significant move to compete with Yahoo and to earn good revenue from potential market of sponsored Ads.
Sponsored Ads has recently gained major acknowledgement from web owners, as they can filter the users for a particular keyword search, and show their Ad if it is relevant to the keyword searched! The market is big, and Google and Yahoo are already making good revenue from this!
The pilot program will be around next week, and would help Microsoft replace the paid-search technology licensed by Microsoft from Yahoo Inc.’s Overture Services unit. It is clear that Microsoft is trying to compete in this big business area, and is reluctant to combine with its competitor for joint efforts. No wonder that like Google, Microsoft is looking to earn revenue from this business, and it may not be a bad move!
However, the deal of MSN with Overture runs through the middle of 2006 and therefore, the independent services for sponsored Ads may take six months to a year before finally commencing.
