Syria Completely Withdraws its Intelligence, too

Noting that the pullout will be in two stages, UN representative Roed-Larsen gave a press briefing after the negotiation held in Assad’s family home in Aleppo and said: "The president has committed to withdraw from Lebanon all Syrian troops and intelligence." Roed-Larsen, who is from Norway, also expressed that he will present a detailed timetable about the two-stage pullout plan to the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, but he did not give the envisioned date for the pullout. He also explained before yesterday’s negotiation that Syrian troops, which will be located at the Bekaa Valley at the end of March, will completely withdraw in the second stage. On the other side, over 10,000 opponents, who gathered in Lebanese capital Beirut, formed a gigantic Lebanese flag and organized an anti-Syria demonstration. Demonstrators chanted slogans such as "Syria Go Home!" and Freedom, Sovereignty and Independence". Resolution 1559, which was taken by the UN Security Council last September, envisions a rapid pullout of all Syrian troops from Lebanon.
