Turkey asks for written confirmation over Greek Cyprus issue
Turkey asked for written confirmation to back up its stance of "not recognizing Greek Cyprus", when signing the EU protocol, saying that it would speed up the process of integration into Europe.
Terrorism was also discussed at the meeting held between UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and the PM.
"In the meetings we took up the subject of terrorism and the Cyprus issue, as well as Turkey’s bid for EU membership."
Erdogan also met with the Israeli Deputy Premier Shimon Peres, who encouraged turkey to take an active role in the reconstruction of Gaza.
Peres said, "This will be an important contribution to the peace of the region."
