Northern Iraqi pipeline sabotaged again
The explosion took place some 40 kilometres of Kirkuk, the heart of the Northern Iraqi oil fields and the hub for exports through to Turkey’s port of Yumutalik on the Mediterranean.
According to an official of Iraqi’s North Oil Company, the blast took place at 10:00 pm local time, causing a disruption to pumping.
It was the second strike against the pipelines in the region within four days, with a rocket attack on a line connecting the refinery at Baiji to Kirkuk.
