Chhattisgarh’s Yuvraj Singh to represent India at World Muaythai Championship in Turkey | More sports News – Times of India

RAIPUR: Yuvraj Singh, a 14-year-old from Chhattisgarh’s Bastar, will represent India at the World Youth Muaythai Championships, which are being organized in Antalya, Turkey, from September 29 to October 8. A total of seven athletes, including Yuvraj, who is the sole athlete from Chhattisgarh, will represent India at the world championship.
Yuvraj has earned 13 gold medals in state and national level championships since he embarked on his career in Muaythai in 2018. These 13 medals include seven national level victories and six at the state level. His talent gained recognition when he won a bronze medal at the IFMA World Youth Muaythai Championship held in Malaysia from August 9 to 21, 2022.
“I would have secured second or even first place in my age group at the Malaysia championship if I had known all the rules of the game. A technical error committed by me resulted in settling for the bronze medal in the championship in 2022. I am well-prepared for the Turkish championship and optimistic about improving my performance. I am the sole player from Chhattisgarh to be a part of the Indian contingent,” said Yuvraj.
