Russian firm to bid in Tupras sell off
A report carried by the television station NTV said that Taftnet will again take part in the tender for the refiner, having previously had its subsidiary Yefremov Kauchuk and Turkish partner Zorlu Holding win an initial bid for Tupras earlier this year. However, the sale was blocked in the courts after unions representing Turkey’s oil sector workers applied to have the sale overturned.
Unlike in the previous attempt to privatise Tupras, NTV said that there would be at least four other bidders in the tender, including both American and Turkish firms.
