Japanese Opposition to US: Stop Fallujah Operation

*censored*ushima, on a visit to the US Embassy in Tokyo met with Embassy Official Michael Michalak and said that Japanese had heard of the killings of civilians as well as insurgents in Fallujah, which, if true, would seriously violate international rules of law.

Meanwhile, Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, speaking on the second day of the US operation, said, "We, as Japan, give full support to this operation and this operation should be successful."

Koizumi had previously refused to apologize, after opposition claims that supporting the occupation of Iraq’s was a big mistake, saying that the regime had deserved military attacks as Saddam Hussein did not heed the warnings made by the international community.

Koizumi noted that of Iraq’s refusal to comply with United Nations (UN) Security Council esolutions necessitated the war.
