Kabul: Karzai thanks his people after election

Karzai proclaimed his victory for the first time in his
country’s October 9 elections.

"My countrymen and women, thank you for the trust you have put in me," Karzai said in a speech at the presidential palace in Kabul.

"I hope I will fulfill the promises that I have done to you." he said.
