Tarakcioglu told A.A, "lifting of (worldwide) quotas in 2005 and the competition with China are largely discussed in Turkey and the low salaries of Chinese workers are considered as a threat."

"Turkey ranks first in the world with an added value of 6.5 dollars in return to every dollar of salary in textiles, and 6 dollars in readywear industry," added Tarakcioglu.

Tarakcioglu said, "productivity in Turkey is higher than industrialized countries like the United States, Germany and Italy."

"Turkey’s strength stems from cheap labor, young population which can be trained easily, experienced and dynamic industrialists, flexibility, swift service and quality," added Tarakcioglu.
