Turkish PM: Give Us Three Years

Having met with French leader Jacque Chirac and German Prime Minister Gerhard Schröder yesterday in Berlin, Erdogan answered the questions of the British "Guardian" daily.

Stressing that the words used in France and Germany for Turkey hurt Turkish public, Erdogan said, "The Turkish public was not expecting such a negative approach. France has a total investment of 5.5 billion dollars in Turkey. Germany’s investment is also equivalent to this number. I conclude that the prejudices arisen in Europe are due to the failure to understand Turkey sufficiently."
