TIME: Bush Lead Drops to 6 Points

According to TIME, 48 percent of respondents would vote for Bush, while 42 percent would choose Kerry on November 2nd. Just two weeks ago Bush boasted an 11-point lead over Kerry.

48 percent of the survey participants also agreed with the US invasion of Iraq. This number is down five points from the previous survey.

37 percent of Americans also believe that Bush is being forthright when it comes to the situation in Iraq. On the other hand, 55 percent believe that the situation is worse than what Bush is reporting.

178,000 people participated in the TIME survey conducted over the phone on September 21-23.
