Turkey Responds To Hostage Killing

In a video posted on the Internet, the man reads a statement and then is shot in the head by a masked militant.

He’s shown saying, "I was able to see the American oppression in Iraq." He said he stayed "in order to save a little money."

Then, the video shows a militant firing three shots into his head. The date of the killing is not clear.

The Turkish company said the man was one of two workers missing in Iraq for three or four days. The company was providing laundry service for a Jordanian company in Iraq.

Two Turkish drivers are still missing in Iraq. In a video aired over the weekend the same militant group that killed the other man threatens to decapitate the drivers if their company doesn’t stop doing business in Iraq.

The Turkish truckers association said Monday that it will stop transporting goods to American forces in Iraq. The truckers said they’re hoping the move will persuade kidnappers to release two Turkish hostages.

As many as 300 Turkish trucks bring daily supplies to the Americans.
