It was reported that the baby’s mother had died in the earthquake but now it has been discovered that she is alive and they have been reunited.

Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, posted photos of the baby and shared the heart-warming news. The baby’s mother was apparently treated in a different hospital and after 54 days apart and a DNA test, they are together again, according to a local Turkish news website.
“You probably remember this picture of the baby who spent 128 hours under rubble after an earthquake in Turkey. It was reported that the baby’s mom died. Turns out, the mom is alive! She was treated in a different hospital. After 54 days apart and a DNA test, they are together again,” he tweeted.
“That is so wonderful!!” commented a user. “Restoring faith in the cosmos…a little bit is a lot these days,” said another. “Wonderful news. I’m so happy they both survived and are back with one another. Thank you for sharing this,” appreciated yet another.
Derya Yanik, Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services, also posted a video that shows the baby’s reunion with her mother.
“54 days of longing is over. Vetin Begdaş, who was rescued from the wreckage after 128 hours and named Gizem Bebek by our nurses, was reunited with her mother after 54 days. Vetin is now our baby too. As the Ministry, our support will always be with you,” she tweeted in Turkish.
More than 50,000 people died in Turkey in the devastating earthquake that occurred across 11 provinces while over 7,000 people succumbed in Syria.
