Austrian President Klestil Dies

71-year old Klestil was elected President as the Republic Party candidate in 1992. He was just about to complete his second six-year term of office when he passed away.

Klestil had been preparing to hand over his duties to new president Heinz Fischer on Thursday, July 8.
