Historical Trial Begins Tomorrow
Iraqi Justice Minister Malik Dühan el Hasan stated that Saddam might be sentenced to capital punishment if he is found guilty for the humanity crimes he committed such as genocide and using chemical weapons.
11 former top-level administrators such as former Foreign Minister Tarık Aziz, will be tried together with Saddam. Saddam is expected to be tried on 12 different crimes, mainly for the killing of 5000 people from the Barzani tribe in 1963, for the occupation of Kuwait in 1990 and for the Haleppo Massacre in 1988.
New National Security Counsellor Muvaffak El Rubai said that Saddam will be fairly tried by the Iraq Private Court according to the Iraq laws and that they would not let Saddam to turn the trial into a political show.
