AWACS to Roam Istanbul Skies

General James L. Jones, the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe (SACEUR), decided that the AWACS should be used to patrol the skies around Istanbul for the duration of the summit. Alliance members approved his decision.

NATO sources also report that the alliance will contribute 30-40 experts from the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Battalion (CBRN) for security purposes.
