Turkish FM Gul meets with Zebari and Brahimi

Gul who held bilateral meetings under the 31st Session of the Organization of the Islamic conference (OIC) Foreign Ministers met separately with Brahimi, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Hamoud Ould Mohammad of Mauritania, Zebari and Foreign Minister Abubakr Abdullah al-Qirbi of Yemen.

Speaking to the A.A correspondent following the meetings, Iraqi Foreign Minister Zebari said that a "brilliant future awaits" relations between Turkey and Iraq.

Stressing that OIC Term Presidency had been handed over to Turkey, Zebari said that they wanted several factors to be included in the Istanbul declaration that was going to be released at the end of the OIC Foreign Ministers meeting and he expected the part on Iraq to be clear.

Meanwhile, sources said that Zebari requested inclusion of expressions in the joint statement saying, "new government in Iraq" and "new UN resolution" were welcomed. Meanwhile, Turkey gave positive message to Zebari about the issue, stating that those expressions coincided with its policies. Zebari noted that Gul and he had discussed also bilateral relations, adding that Turkey could help Iraq in many fields including trade and rebuilding.
