Turkey condemn Israel for Gaza Strip demolition

The ministry released a statement late on Monday, condemning Israel for mass demolitions of houses in a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. The demolition work in the Rafah camp is expected to leave thousands of the camp’s Palestinian residents homeless.

The ministry statement expressed Turkey’s concern over possible deaths that could come ocurr from the Israeli operation to demolish houses in the camp, which Tel Aviv suspects are nests to Palestinian militants.

"We are repeating our calls to the sides to refrain from actions accelerating the violence and reminding them one more time that they should return to the negotiation talks for permanent peace and that there is no option other than restarting the dialogue especially on the common security regulations," read the statement.

Expressing Turkey’s sorrow for the destruction of numerous residences in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli security forces, the ministry said those kinds of extreme actions would not serve Israel’s security goals, instead it was more likely to worsen the living conditions of the Palestinians, thus paving the way for more terrorist acts by the militant groups in the region.
