Ballmer added: "In addition to giving computer courses to teachers, we would like the whole society to be introduced to computers. So we will cooperate with Vestel in order to produce affordable computers by helping users financially."

Ballmer said he came to Turkey three times in the last six years and was more impressed each time. At a press conference with Zorlu Holding CEO, Ahmet Nazif Zorlu, Ballmer said: "We are more impressed everyday by the business world’s activities in Turkey. We are aware of the role of this country in this region’s economy and technology. During the research we conducted to increasing our market share in Turkey, we saw that we could cooperate with Vestel, which is a worldwide group. We can conduct joint studies in the fields of e-state, public and state services provided on the Internet, and information technologies and produce new devices with Vestel, the producer of 30 percent of devices in Western Europe. Therefore, we will present better and more affordable devices to users in Turkey."

Ballmer said that Microsoft had meetings with governmental officials and specifically with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and noted that they worked on the agendas of the countries and their priorities and that they saw e-state, e-education and exports were priorities in Turkey so they would focus on these fields.
