No Positive Support from AKP to Women

Only three AKP deputies, Serpil Yildiz, Lokman Ayva and Ertufrul Yalcinbayir supported the motion of CHP.

However the motion was turned down with the votes of AKP, including its 4 woman deputies. Of 526 deputies in the session, 514 voted for the motion and 5 against.

Meanwhile, CHP extended support to the 10-article Amendment package of AKP which brings further democratization, in the Constitution. The package was adopted in a 22-hour marathon with 400 votes, far above the necessary number of votes of 267, to amend the Constitution.
