TRNC fulfilled its responsibilities

ANKARA (AA) – Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said, "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has fulfilled its responsibilities. Now, we believe that European Union (EU)-member countries, the United States, Far Eastern countries and Caucasus will also fulfill their responsibilities."

Replying to questions of journalists about results of twin referendums in Cyprus, Prime Minister Erdogan said on Sunday, "Turkish Cypriot people used their democratic rights in the best way. They gave the best response to international policies of isolation. They told the world, ‘you cannot isolate us any longer since were are the side exerting efforts to find a solution to the Cyprus issue.’ We hoped that both sides voted "yes" in the referendums. However, the Greek Cypriot side displayed a negative attitude. TRNC has fulfilled its responsibilities. Now, we believe that EU-member countries, the United States, Far Eastern countries and Caucasus will also fulfill their responsibilities."

"We also believe that international policies of isolation against TRNC will come to an end, and that a new period will start in TRNC," he added.
